Discover Contemporary Mediterranean Fare at Cafe Lily
Nov 27, 2017
Cafe Lily, a restaurant and wine bar in downtown Decatur, is the brainchild of the Pitillo family. Angelo and Bette, a husband and wife teamed up to found the restaurant in 1999, along with their son Anthony.
These days, Anthony heads up the kitchen staff, preparing Mediterranean-style mezze and inventive entree dishes. Regulars suggest you try the house specialty, pinchitos, which is a grilled lamb tenderloin with smoky-sweet Spanish spices and salsa verde, served along with sauteed sweet potatoes. Other menu standouts include the butternut squash ravioli, which has a reputation for being rich, hearty, and filling, as well as the lemon sponge custard for dessert. Visit this place during the lunch hour and you’ll find it filled with nine-to-fivers thanks to the kitchen’s $7.50 lunch specials. Try the hickory-smoked turkey sandwich along with your choice of soup, salad, or fries.
